How do I get on a list for an upcoming litter?

You submit an application and let us know which list you'd like to be on. If accepted, you are placed on that list.

Can I visit my puppy?

Yes! Once you're an approved family (welcome, by the way — we're thrilled you're a Dolly's Doods family!) we start visits at 2 weeks old. These last for 30 minutes until week 6, when we increase to an hour-long visit and families choose their puppies.

How do we choose our puppies?

Puppies are chosen by you, and your order of choice is based on the order of that litter's list. If you were 1st on the list, you get first pick; if you were 5th, you get fifth pick. I'm here to help walk you through personality traits and coat and weight predictions, but ultimately, the choice is up to you. More often than not, families choose the puppies I recommend to them, as I'm listening to your needs and desires in a pup, and spend all of my time learning about these puppies.

You mention therapy or service dogs — what's that about?

Our matriarch, Dolly Barkton, was a certified therapy dog, and it's why we started breeding: to produce dogs ready for animal-assisted therapy. We are sought after for this reason, and have placed about 50% of our dogs as working therapy or working service dogs (diabetes, autism, seizures, Down syndrome, PTSD, etc.), and we are very proud of this fact!

You say potty and crate training? Do you actually do that?

Yes! Around 4 weeks of age, we introduce, encourage, and early-train pottying skills and begin crating. By the time the puppies go home, they have learned to be in their crate alone 2–4 times a day for 15–60 minutes each time! Most families report they have very little work to do when the pups go home, and often if there are pottying accidents, it's because of human error. And if there are concerns or you need help, that's why I'm here and offer lifetime support for you and your puppy!

I don't live in Oregon but I want a puppy. How does that work?

Not a problem! We have puppies in over 10 states and counting! If you're unavailable for visits, we can do video calls and text updates, and you can follow along on our Instagram for additional updates. You can either pick the puppy up yourself, or I can deliver the puppy to you via car or flight for an additional fee (based on fuel or flight prices).

Do your puppies come with breeding rights?

We place all puppies as pets only. We require that your puppy be spayed after her first or second heat, and males neutered around 1 year old. I would consider breeding rights to an approved breeding program.

What's up with the pun names?

They're hilarious and we love them.
